Building movement ecosystems for collective power

Our aim is to grow the power of our communities toward greater resilience and governing power through strategic partnerships and movement infrastructure.

As our communities face the impacts of overlapping crises, we remain rooted in the belief that anything we build must be grounded in grassroots organizing and movement needs.

CEP builds movement ecosystem(s) of people of color-led grassroots organizations and community-based organizations to deepen our experiments and sustain the long-term participation and leadership of working-class communities of color.

Our approach is practitioner-led, grounded in our experience as organizers, the needs of our communities, and the political imperative to scale up our power and impact.

Core Elements of Our Work

Movement
Infrastructure

We support power-building organizations to develop and grow multi-entity hubs with consolidated back office services that leverage the structures and resources we need to meet the political moment.

Leadership
Pathways

We develop and sustain BIPOC movement organizers and operations staff, connecting them to a larger ecosystem through fellowships, mentorship, intergenerational programs & political education trainings.

Strategic
Partnerships

We accompany organizational leaders to design and manage change through the uncertainty of shifting political conditions, transitions, and the impacts of working under systems of oppression.

Field
Building

We engage in movement workforce research, funder education, and learning spaces to support our base-building partners to resource themselves, build power, and win.

Drawing from multiple strands of radical traditions, CEP’s interventions have contributed bold leadership to movements at the intersection of racial justice, grassroots organizing, and electoral power building.

CEP partners can access organizational capacity-building and strategic services through our sister organization CEPEF, and back-end office support through Resilient Strategies.
